Dafna GreenbergDear Mr. Korman,
My name is Dafna Greenberg and I am 11 years old. I have read your books \\\"Linked\\\", \\\"Restart\\\", \\\"Operation Do-Over\\\", and \\\"the Fort\\\". I love all of your books, but I especially loved \\\"Linked\\\". As a Jewish kid, \\\"Linked\\\" connects to me. I also wanted to let you know that I love your style of writing. My questions to you are: Why did you write \\\"Linked\\\"? Is there something that inspired you? My other question is: How did you get the idea to write \\\"Operation Do-Over\\\"? Thank you so much for being an awesome writer and taking the time to read this.
Sincerely, Dafna Greenberg (By the way, my parents gave me permission to share my info)

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to note that you've been reading and enjopying some of my books, and that LINKED, especially, made a hit with you.
Your questions: I can't say that I wrote LINKED because of some special inspiration. It really started with the story of the school in Whitwell, Tennessee, the one that did the paper clip project so that the kids could visualize the concept of 6 million, as in 6 million lost lives in the Holocaust. I wanted to explore what they learned, and LINKED and a boy's quest to honor his heritage (and his grandmother) with a bar mitzvah was the result. As for OPERATION DO-OVER, you've read RESTART, so you understand that I'm really interested in people getting second chances in life. That was just another story about a second chance to get things right.
OK? Thanks again, Dafna. -----Gordon Korman-----
