Hi Gord,

In the Monday Night Football Club series, I thought I read before that you didn't consider the 6th book, NFL Rules!, as part of your official canon, is that correct?

With The 39 Clues series is it necessary to read all the books to understand what is going on or will one be able to just read your books in the series without confusion?

Boy, you really meant it when you said you were going to read my stuff! NFL RULES! Wow! The outline story was mine, but the tales of the players came from the NFL. And let's face it, most of the GOOD stories they had to tell weren't suitable for kids' books! So it was mine, but barely.

THE 39 CLUES is best if it's read (the first 10 books, anyway) in order. But if you can extrapolate the gist of the through story and want to read just my contributions, you'll probably not miss too much. After all, you're considerably more mature as a reader than the age group it was all aimed at!!! Enjoy.                                                            ---Gord---

Yes, I don't know if it's a touch of OCD or a completist fetish or what, but whether it's an author or a musician, if I find something I like I tend to want to collect and explore their entire catalogue. To my detriment, it's usually someone with a large amount of work, whether it's yourself, or King, or Zappa.

When I decided to take on your oeuvre, I had made my list from your wikipedia page. I recall you had posted a while back that one of the books on there wasn't a book of yours. I was thinking it was "NFL Rules!" but perhaps it was something else. The cover of that one lists a couple of other authors on there as well as yourself, so I thought perhaps that they had written it and you were listed on there for it being your concept. I just wasn't sure if I should track it down to add to the collection as a legitimate work of yours, or one of the current 102.

Years back, I was friends with some of the Bomber players, so I do know what stories you're referring to, haha. Once I finish the MNFC series, I do have a couple of questions for you in mind about that. Shame that they don't have The Jersey series on Disney+.

The one that has a number of other authors on it is the transition book from the first 10 "39 Clues" books to the next group. It's called VESPERS RISING. I have a longish short story in there. It's the bridge book between the first 10 39 Clues books and CAHILLS vs. VESPERS. It's as much mine as anyone else's, but not wholly mine.                        --G--

Isn't there a science club book that has your name on it as well?

Sharp eyes! I think it must be THE MAD SCIENTISTS CLUB or some such title. I didn't write any of the books, but I did write a series outline for the author(s). It was a long time ago.                                                          ---GK---
