[Mr. Greer\'s Class]

Dear Mr. Korman,

We are a 3rd grade class reading Swindle.  We love your book.  We were wondering is Luthor based on a real dog in your life?

We look forward to hearing from you,

Mr. Greer\'s Class

Hi, Mr. Greer & Students,

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear that SWINDLE is making a hit with the kids.

Luthor is a very popular dog in the series, which consists of 8 books. He's in all of them, especially SHOWOFF, where he becomes quite a star. Luthor is a fictional dog that I made up to fit into the SWINDLE series. I've never had a dog like him -- is it possible that he's one of a kind?

Thanks so much for reaching out.                                                                                    -----Gordon Korman-----
