auditWas there relationship purely platonic or did u just not write about that due to the age these books are targeted towards ?

Reef and Theo were two middle graders living in the same city, but quite far apart. They had no knowledge that the other even existed -- until Theo began experiencing strange memories of people and events that he knew were not part of his life. He set out to investigate, and eventually found Reef. For some extra-natural reason, they were swapping memories. This is what brought them together to solve the mystery of why it was all happening. And (SPOILER ALERT) the storm on the night both were born in the same hospital was what had united their lives.

Specifically because they're basically brothers, maybe even more at this point. They share so many memories with each other! And not just fun ones, some pretty bad ones too! If I had that experience with someone, they would be so much like me that they're basically my blood. Closer than a sister or a brother! No romance between siblings!

That'd be quite a story for a fanfiction, but there isn't any evidence in the book that they feel a connection.
