    Hi, Dawsongrod,

A murder mystery should end with the revelation of who did the murder and, probably, why. That should be revealed gradually in the story, and is not just a statement at the end. Unraveling the mystery is what a mystery book is all about. And yes, you can use names like Shake Shack and McDonald's, but it's always safer to make something up.

    Good luck!                                                                                                    -----Gordon Korman-----

I think I already answered this, Dawson, but here goes  again: The book should consist of your hero/detective/cop's effort to solve the murder mystery, and the very end should be successful, revealing whodunit, and maybe even why, and how it was discovered. It's all part of the story and should build up to the end. As for brand names, I usually avoid them, just in case some burger place or ice cream shop gets insulted. It's easy enough to make up a fictional one, right?
