Sarah.SDear Gordon Korman,
I love the book Restart you wrote! In fact my teacher read it to her 4th grade class! I hope you make a Restart 2 like that is how much I love your book and plus I don’t like reading much, but I loved Restart! How did you think of all the bullying acts and Chase falling off the roof? Do you recommend any other books that I might like that you wrote? Well I know I have asked a lot of questions but I have one more: what made you become an author? I hope you write a Restart 2, and I can’t wait to read more of your books!
Thank you for reading,
Sarah

Thanks for posting. I'm glad you liked RESTART so much, and I hope it's shown you that reading can be fantastic! All the stuff I thought of for the book comes to me through plain old hard work and a lot of thinking and plotting. Making up stories is whatI do for a living, so I hopeyou'll want to read many more of my books.
Last question: I became an author by accident in 7th grade. Our teacher asked us to write what he called "a novelette." I think he just wanted a story that didn't end after the first page. I got carried away, and quite accidentally wrote 100 pages or so about a boarding school and some mischievous kids, and it turned into my first book! How's that for a surprise? I've been writing ever since, and that was over 40 years ago!
Thanks again for writig to me, Sarah. -----Gordon Korman-----
