    Dear Gordon Korman,

I have a few questions about Restart. What is the climax of the book? I think it is when Chase was in the court room but my classmates think it's, "One Man Band". Why did Mr. Solway decide to stand up for Chase in the court room? Also, why did we not go into any adult chapters in the book? How did you come up with the main idea of the book?

    Hi, Dylan,

Pick your climax. Most people think it's the courtroom scene at the end, when the whole community sticks up for Chase beause they feel he's changed. But some think it's the scuffle with Aaron and Bear when Chase is trying to return the medal -- it's really the scene where he has just retrieved the last lost memory. ONE MAN BAND was a lot of fun, and did force the ending of the book, but was still there for comedy relief. We didn't go into any adult chapters because the book is aimed at Middle Grade, and MG doesn't do adult stuff. And the plot came from the same place I get everything -- plain old hard work, and a lot of thinking and plotting.

Thanks for your interest.                                                                -----Gordon Korman-----
