Hi GK,

Three questions:

What inspired you to write your books?

Why are there almost no girls in your books as the main character? (Aside from Linked)

And why is there so much hockey and football?

(Football as in Pop, Slugfest, Restart, Slacker, No More Dead Dogs, Operation Do-Over, Schooled) (Hockey as in The SuperTeacher Project, The Chicken Doesn’t Skate, The MacDonald Hall Series)

Hi,

I was "inspired" by a great desire not to fail English in Grade 7. The book started out as an assignment. There are plenty of girls in the Macdonald Hall series. You mean leading characters, right? I guess because I happen to be a guy. And, as you say, sports is a familiar theme with me, and my connection is to boys' sports. Hockey because I used to love it. And football because I love it now.
