CarolynHi from Carolyn!!
This isn't really anything special, but I just HAD to write to you. I've read so many of your books, i've lost count. But if I had to estimate, I would say i've read about 30 just this year. I don't like to be egotistical, but I would say I might be one of your most committed fans. In my age group, atleast. You've even inspired me to write my own book! It's called "Murder? I Barely Know Her" and it's a current work in progress. I would love some advice from my favorite author about writing a book at a young age!

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear from such a big fan and fellow-writer. Congratulations on starting your first effort.
Advice for a young writer? Find someone you really trust to give you the whole truth, even though it might be something less than what you'd like to hear. That could be an older sibling, Mom or aunt, special teacher -- you'll know who to choose. And give that person your work to read and comment on. Great title, by the way!
BEST advice: always plan your story before you put a single word onto the page. You can't say anything well unless you know exactly what you want to say. And you don't really know that unless you plan. For me, planning is everything.
Best of luck. IOU one fan letter! -----Gordon Korman-----
