Dear Mr. Korman,

I hope this note finds you well! My name is Beth Jarzabek, and I teach 6th grade English Language Arts at Baird Middle School in Ludlow, Massachusetts. My students love to dive into the first novel in the  Masterminds series, and it never fails to hook even the most reluctant readers. They love debating who’s trustworthy, what’s really going on in Serenity, and how the characters react as the truth of their existence comes to light.

As a teacher, it’s a joy to watch them light up while reading your work, especially at a time when independent reading is declining nationwide. To help keep that spark alive, I run a small, ongoing project called “Get Caught Reading.” I collect photos of people (teachers, authors, and community members) who’ve been “caught” reading, and I display them for my students to remind them that reading is something people truly love to do.

It would mean so much to our class if you’d be willing to share a photo of yourself reading or a short quote about why reading (or writing) matters to you. Even a single sentence would have a huge impact.
