Pacing. Hmmm. A chapter outline helps, with notes on what's taking place in each chapter. You can pace the events that way.

But this is the truth of the matter: when I was 12, in the midst of writing THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL, my Mom was hovering, being helpful. She told me at one point that I was supposed to complete a story line "right here." And I recall saying, "No, it isn't time yet." That's pacing, and I knew it just because I knew it, and she didn't know it just becase she didn't. That doesn't mean you can't work at it. And it may very well be in you, and hasn't bubbled to the surface yet.

By the way, thanks... and guess what. I got a pet leopard gecko. His name is Goeser! The thing is, my parents wouldn't let me keep him. So I had to go on a side-quest to get him, and find him a new home... thankfully, he now has a new, safe home where he will get fed. So happy! Yay!

Have you ever had/seen a leopard gecko before? I think I'm going to write a book with one of them in it, now. :D

I know a gecko is a lizard. Not sure what size. Leopard - is that about the markings? How big is he? Not sure I could live with anything that can walk upside down on the ceiling! -G-
