hi, I’ve read some of your books, and I think my friend told me about something the books have in common, you know their "universe"? or other people call it “canon” – which things are real in the books, and in which books they’re real, so like, book A’s things might be canon but in Book B it might not be, so are the characters all part of the same universe or they don’t exist in different books (outside of their own books)? And how does time pass, like is rudy still a kid or is he a billion years old now? thansk

Hi, Kyro W.,

I've written over 100 books, and I probably have created several different universes in the process. Except for series books like MASTERMINDS and THE HYPNOTISTS and SWINDLE, they're all unrelated and in ther own universe. At least, that's the way I've intended it. As for the passing of time, Rudy is still a kid a the end of the book, and that's the way I've left him. Ditto Bruno and Boots and any of my other characters. Which means, I guess, that time does NOT pass. When the story is done, the book is over, and the characters remain in stasis.

What can I say? I like things uncomplicated. -----Gordon Korman-----

Although there is a little overlap with The Pretzel appearing in No Coins, Please and Born To Rock. I don't know if there are any other examples like that; none spring to mind (excepting the Gunhold references).

I think things like that are a treat for those who have taken the long journey along with you and enjoyed these marvelous tales through the decades.
