I am trying to write The Unteachables, A Play, and I am have trouble designing the cars, and as they play a pivotal role in the story, I can’t just leave them out. So, I’m just posting this topic for some help with brainstorming. Remember, one can has to have the engine fall out, and a pickup has to carry 7 boxes. Any ideas?

I can't see it staged any way except offstage with suitable crashing and honking, and explained in clever dialogue.

As a theater kid, when doing cars, I recommend sounds and some tricks with light. Let's say you have a toy car. At the backstage, you can use that toy car and use it's shadow.

Yeah, but remember, people have to be inside too. My current idea is to use a large cardboard box, and paint it to show the differences, and maybe a couple randomly sized boxes that will fall out.
