AmandaHello. I have been running a zoom book club for my son since he was in Kindergarten. Now he is in fourth grade and we have been tackling chapter books for a year now. I am doing my best to provide a free activity the children can bond over from the comfort of their own bed. We read a couple chapters in the club and they read their assignments at home. I give everyone a character so when we read they read their characters dialogue while narrate to bring the book to life. My son and I read Restart when he was in second grade and loved it so much, I thought itd be nice to read Old School in book club. The children LOVED it. One in particular, Landon has become one of your biggest fans. He is even known to give recommendations to his teachers.. I love the message of love and respect toward older ones and it is a book that I now highly recommend to kids. I try to do an activity after each book with the kids. So I'm creating a Zoom game night where I ask the children to invite one older friend that they'd like the group to meet. And then I will randomly pair them up with a child as their game partner. Teach them that friendship with an older one can be as rewarding for them as it was for Dexter. Thank you again. We can't wait to read more of your stories. Landon keeps pushing for Unplugged but with all the choices, we'll have to see what we decide on.

I'm thrilled to know that my books are doing well with your reading group. A lot of readers and teachers have told me how much they enjoyed the mixing of age groups. As you may imgine, OLD SCHOOL was a lot of fun to write, too! Thanks for letting me know it's made an impact with your book club.
