I am writing to request a donation of an autographed book, Faker or Snoop, or any other, from you. 

The group I volunteer with, Veterans for a Better Community, is dedicated to helping Veteran families and promoting literacy among our young people. A part of our group's goals is to promote understanding and curiosity.   Each April (April is the Month of the Military Child) we hold a contest for elementary (4th graders) and high school (10th graders) students asking them to describe in poems, essays, or art what the Pledge of Allegiance means to them.  We invite 4 schools in the area (we are a rural area) and local home schoolers to participate.  We award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes to fourth graders and tenth graders from each school and to the home schoolers.  Prizes include house mounted U.S. flags, smaller flags, gift cards, treats, books, and certificates presented by local civic leaders.  We have had tremendous and positive response the past few years.  The kids and parents seem to love it all!
