Dear Gordon Korman,

My name is Andon Russell. I love reading your books. I've read like 10-15 of your books. I was wondering when will you start writing your next book and what will it be about.

My favorite book that you wrote is The Fort. I love the way you wrote it. I feel like the words just roll off the tongue a lot easier than other books. The characters in the book are just like me and my friend group. What inspired you to write The Fort and why? I love your writing style. I also love reading your books like, Slacker, Ungifted, and Restart. How old were you when you started to write? How old were you when your first book got published? How long does it take to write a normal chapter book?

I really love your writing. You are my favorite writer in the world. I hope you'll keep writing amazing books!

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased that my books have been going over well with you, especially THE FORT which was my Book #100! I hope you'll want to read your way right through my long list -- 107 titles with the recent release of HYPERGIFTED.

Your questions: What I do doesn't really require what you call "inspiration." Most authors write because we have something to say, a story to tell. That's all it takes to start us scribbling. I was 12 when I wrote my first book as a 7th grade English project, and 14 by the time it was actually published. On average, my books take me between 6 to 9 months to complete.
