Hello! 

 

Thank you so much for your response to our Season 1 episodes. We are onto Season 2 and several of your books were featured in our latest class podcast on Apple podcasts.  Our purpose is to give students a voice to share what they are reading, encourage their peers and others beyond the four walls of our classroom to read these books as well. The theme for Season 2 was Theme Throwdown and Noah (Episode 2), Kendra (Episode 3) and Fiona (Episode 4) all featured your books. I just wanted to share the link with you if you are interested in tuning in! (Bio's and links below)

 

Season 2 - Episode 2 - When you're reading a book in an intense moment do you ever feel like the words are crashing down on the page, because all of the books in this episode will provide you with that feeling. Will, Dylan, Sai, and Noah, our 6th grade hosts, will keep listeners on the edge of their seats. Noah, will be diving deep into Restart by Gordan Korman and dissecting the key details of his thrilling page turner. Dylan will be featuring Hatchet by Gary Paulson, a book full of perseverance and bravery. Will is discussing Framed by James Ponti, a book full of mystery and edge. Finally Sai will be exploring It Found Us, an ominous book by Linsday Currie. Tune in to our podcast and be ready to be thrilled by the crashing comrades.

 

Season 2 - Episode 3 - Make sure you get your hats and mittens and get bundled up while Roshna, Zaina, Kendra, and Ani dive deep into themes about collaboration and perseverance. Tune in when Roshna explores Finding Perfect by Elly Swartz, where a girl with OCD perseveres through hardships; Zaina explores Besties Work it Out by Kayla Miller and Jeffery Canino with two friends learning a good lesson about hard work and forgiveness; Kendra returns with another Gordan Korman book, Masterminds Payback, where characters explore the real world and face many challenges along the way; and Ani explores the book The Mystery of Black Hollow Lane, where the main character faces a grand mystery involving secrets her school has left behind. Make sure you hop on this sleigh and ride all the way to these outstanding books and relatable themes!

 

Season 2 - Episode 4 - Get comfy, get hot coco, and get excited for a new episode of Chapter Chats. Fiona, Emma, Lexi, and Ella share how the characters in their books face difficult challenges, but eventually overcome them. In Linked by Gordan Korman, Fiona shares how the main character Link faces prejudice, due to swastikas painted in the school. As for Emma’s book, Ghost by Jason Reynolds, Castle often has trouble thinking before he speaks, but despite this he makes many opportunities for himself. Lexi shares how Scoob, in Clean Getaway by Nic Stone, has to figure out what to do about his grandma and her suspicious actions, while on a road trip. Coke and Pepsi, from Ella’s book, The Genius Files by Dan Gutman, have to escape villains chasing them while on a family adventure. Tune in as these podcasters compare these traumatic events, themes, and lessons learned throughout each book.
