Dear Gordon Korman,

My name is Rachel and I absolutely love your books! I have read most of them, but I have some questions for you... 

1.) Is there going to be another book after Hypergifted because I just finished it today at 2 am in the morning and I was wondering if there was going to be another book... (I hope there will be because I would probably cry if there isn't)

2.) What happens after Noah and Donovan drive back to their hometown? Does Donovan ever see Raina again because I am inferencing that they are dating

3.) What is your favorite book so far in all of the books that you have created? Mine is Slugfest... (I even made a list in 5th grade of all of the people in our class as a character, me being Cleo because after I broke my arm, I quit a TON of my sports)

4.) What does Noah look like because I always imagined him as a short kid (like me!) with glasses and orange colored hair, who has bad posture because of scoliosis

5.) I think they should make a movie of the Unteachables or Faker because I think those movies would get other people interested in your books

6.) What book is coming after Sleepless?

Your questions: 1) I don't know if I'll do any more in the "Gifted" series. I'd need a neat idea, for sure!   2) I'm not sure if Donovan and Raina ever get together again. After all, distance is distance.   3) I have no favorite among my books,but I'm very fond of THE FORT, which was #100, and VERY proud of the MASTERMINDS trilogy.   4) Your mental image of Noah matches my view of him -- add a bit nerdy, but in a good way.   5) I agree -- movies always sell a lot of books. My stuff usually does pretty well as it is. But if you know any movie companies, by all means talk up my books!   6) After SLEEPLESS comes another one I'm going to be really proud of called THE FAVORITE.

Dear Gordon Korman,

I have (somewhat) an idea! At Donovan and Noah's high school, there are no gifted programs, and Noah finally fits in for once ... with the science geeks. Donovan starts making more friends and Chloe becomes friends with the popular girls. Then something happens and the district decides the gifted program has become too controversial and temporarily shuts it down.  Donovan, Noah, Chloe, and the others return to regular classes and realize that being labeled “gifted” didn’t make school easier—just different. Soon, a private company offers to reopen the program with strict rules and constant performance tracking. As students argue about whether the program should return, the friends begin to question if intelligence should be measured like a sport. In the end, they work together to show that creativity, teamwork, and courage matter just as much as test scores.

Hi again, Rachel,

What you describe -- at least at the start of your message -- is the plot of the second book in the series, SUPERGIFTED. I think all three books indicate that creativity, teamwork, and courage matter, but I would never put down the gift of intelligence, which is a very great gift indeed! I've tried to make it clear that Donovan and Noah, put together, really do qualify as one brilliant person on all counts.                                                                                                                                                 --GK--
