Hi Gordon! It's me again. So remember how I told you I had another question that I was going to ask you? Well, now I have a few.

Which book was the hardest to write?

So, in a lot of your books, the characters live in small towns where everybody knows each other. Why do you like writing your characters into that setting? And did you grow up with that or something?

And if you weren't an author, what job would you have??

Thanks for your interest!

The hardest to write was LOSING JOE'S PLACE because it was my first effort at writing first person narrative. My smaller town or city settings just happened. Big cities, lke New York, are complicated, and it's hard to get around. I preferred places like the town in SNOOP, where the whole town was the canvas for the story. So I guess the answer is: beause it's easier. I myself grew up in big cities like Montreal and Toronto, but we lived in small self-contained neighborhoods which might just as well have been small towns. And if I wasn't an author, I'd probably have become a teacher.
