    Dear Mr. Korman,

I am writing to you as a volunteer librarian at our school library, which is run entirely by volunteers and operates with no budget. Every single book on our shelves comes from donations, and we work hard to make sure our students have access to quality reading material.

We recently received a donated copy of your novel Restart, printed by Scholastic. Unfortunately, the book contains a major printing defect: it runs from page 25 to 185, then jumps to page 216 and continues through page 57. It is clearly a manufacturing error and renders the book unreadable.

I contacted Scholastic to request a replacement, explaining that this was for a school library serving children. I was told that because the book was donated, it would not be replaced. I must say, I find this response deeply disappointing. The issue is not how the book was acquired; the issue is that it was printed incorrectly. It seems unreasonable that children should be deprived of a complete copy due to an obvious production mistake.

I am concerned about what this says, not only for our students, but for you as the author. Your name is on this book, and our students associate the reading experience with you. It is troubling that a clear printing error would simply be dismissed, particularly when it affects a school.

Our students were genuinely excited to read Restart, and it is disheartening to tell them that we cannot provide a readable copy because we received a bad copy.

I am reaching out in hopes that you may be willing to assist us or help advocate on behalf of our students. We simply want to place a complete, readable copy of your book into their hands.

Thank you for your time and for the impact your stories have on young readers.

    Hi Courtney,

Wow that's weird, then it might be easier to read it on sora. Aren't they supposed to replace it donated or not?
