I hope you’re doing well. Our daughters, Arielle Jeller and Caroline Legge, are turning 13 soon. In a world full of clothes, electronics, and makeup, I’ve been trying to give them something that will last longer than the trends of the moment.

I’m putting together a scrapbook filled with birthday wishes from people who have made a meaningful impact on their lives. Thirteen can be a tough age, and I want them to have something they can each look back on whenever they need encouragement. If you’re comfortable, I would be so grateful if you could share a short birthday message for each of the girls —along with any life advice you think might resonate. Hearing from those they admire and remember would mean the world!
