Dear Gordon Korman, I love your books and you are an amazing author. I just finished reading one of your books. I read a book named Ungifted. I loved how Donovan Curtis changes throughout the book! If you can it would be so cool if one of your books was turned into a movie! I also read ¾ of Restart and all of Unplugged and I am noticing a pattern in your books. All of the main characters are trouble makers in the beginning and more caring by the end. Even in restart Chase lost his memory which totally changed him. So far all of the books that I've read from you are some of my favorite books ever. I also love the twist at the end of Ungifted. Donovan realizes the person that hates him the most helped him cheat in the test. All of a sudden Noah says he did it so he could get out of the academy!?! I love the random turn of events that happen in your stories. I think you are an amazing author and once again please make one of your books into a movie.

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear that my books have been making a hit with you.

Actually, there have been several movies based on my books: 3 of the Macdonald Hall series have been TV movies; Disney Channel did a few seasons of shows based on my MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL CLUB series; and Nickelodeon did a TV movie of SWINDLE. I'm hoping there will be more -- stay tuned!

I LOVE your books and absolutely wish I could be an author like you one day. I'm currently reading 'Slacker' and had an epiphany in the pattern of your books; disaster. Think about it.

I'm not sure whether you do it on purpose or not, but I know I'm nearing the end of one of your books when the group of misfits causes a disaster of mass destruction. Examples: Slacker; they make a wreck of the Y, Unteachables; Parker drives the car and it ends up catching fire and wrecks the road, Restart; In the senior home they wreck the vacuum and fight in the hall, Ungifted; They robots fight and they break the other team's robot and lot of other things I think.

I've read Schooled, Unplugged, Notorious, Faker, Slugfest and Mixed up but I can't exactly remember the disaster in those ones, unless you count the electricity in Mixed Up as one.

So I honestly just wanted to know if you do this on purpose and if not, did you notice it later?

What you describe is standard in the kind of comedy-adventure books that I like to write. The story does build up to some kind of crisis or turning point, and cascades to a big finish. It's not only my books, but pretty much everybody's. You've caught us. We do it on purpose!
