    Hello, Mr. Korman,

    I have a school research project where we need to research about our favorite author. I'm having trouble finding details in 3 categories, Childhood, Adult Life, and your Work. (books, awards etc.) I was wondering if you could maybe give me a couple of things that will give me a good enough knowledge to be able to write a paper on those.

    I hope you can respond but it's of course optional because I can't control you, but I would appreciate it.

    OK, Thatcher. I'll try to be quick. 


    I was born in Montreal, moved to Toronto when I was 7 and did the rest of my growing up there. I was an only child, had lots of friends, played hockey (hey, I was Canadian!) and went to school along with everybody else my age.


    It was at age 12, in 7th grade, that my teacher asked for what he called  "a novelette." I think he just expected a story that didn't end after the first page. What he got was over 100 pages of a story I called BRUNO & BOOTS. I sent it to Scholastic, they liked it, published it, and I became a bestselling author at age 14 when the book finally came out. The title was, and still is, THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL. That was 107 books ago, and I'm still at it.
