Hello,

I was wondering where you find ideas for your books and especially characters—I’m having trouble with that myself. Any advice would be great.

Thanks for posting.

Odd question. I mean, if you're working on a story, you must have planned out the characters who are going to play the parts. With my work, planning is everything. I never put down a single word until my story is ready to be written. You can't say anything well unless you know exactly what you're trying to say. And you can't know that unless you plan.

Where do the stories come from? A lot of thinking and plotting which is part of that planning. No big mystery, really. It's just work.

Good luck with your writing. I think all you need is to put some extra thought and note-making into it.
