I genuinely wonder why Malik wasn't friends with Randy, because according to Malik, he says that fun is hard to come by in Serenity. Randy to me, seems pretty fun. Then again, maybe it's because what Malik finds fun is pushing Hector around to do things.

Also, how DID Hector know what kind of criminals Freddie and Robbie are cloned from when he wasn't with the main characters when we the audience found out? It makes sense that he'd know who he's cloned from, but not the others.

    Hi, Amelia,

I think everyone knew everyone else in such a small town. It's just that certain people gravitate to certain other people. There's no reason for it. It just IS.

Sorry -- I don't recall the answer to this question. Did Hector know the specifics? Was it after the kids were all together and went back to find Serenity deserted? They had access to all the files then. And by the end, wouldn;t they all have known about each clone?                                                                                                                                             --GK--

So, in Criminal Destiny, when they thought Hector was dead, that was when they figured out who exactly they were cloned from. Hector wasn't there, because they thought he was dead. They knew they were clones back in the first book, but not the exact names and crimes of who.

In Payback, however, when the group goes to Poseidon, Hector tells Robbie that he made a deal to keep everything hush-hush so he can live with everyone, and he says that Robbie will look like a counterfeiter when he gets older, meaning that he knows who Robbie is cloned from.

I'm not sure of anything at this point -- that was more than a dozen books ago -- and feels like a gazillion miles! Maybe Hector did a lot of research when he was the only one of the clones still living back in Serenity. All that info was available in the traffic cone factory office. Certainly, they either had to destroy him or let him know a lot of stuff after the big escape turned out to be lasting such a long time. I think they kept him around because he was resentful toward the others, and might be helpful in recapturing them -- which never happened.                                                                     --G--
