Hi Mr Korman,

Your books were a huge part of my childhood. One of my favourite memories is reading Bruno & Boots books early in the morning while the rest of my family were still sleeping.

The thing I really want to thank you for is how you write about cities. You're great at capturing how ludicrous, frustrating, and magical cities can be. As a kid, I really wanted to live in the Toronto of Losing Joe's Place, or the New York of Don't Care High. Places with weird people doing fun things. Where, if you throw yourself into it, you can have an amazing time.

Now that I'm older and actually live in a big city, I'm delighted that you were right, and it's totally like that. A deli with a sideline in hubcaps seems pretty possible, and so does a neighbour who dresses like a rabbit. I think of you whenever I find some new, lovely, goofy thing where I live.

Thanks so much for all the fun and inspiration. Hope all systems are go in your town as well.

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear from a fan who still has fond memories of my books! Thanks for reaching out.

I'm still at it after almost 50 years, still describing some pretty odd cities. As a matter of fact, I have a book called SLEEPLESS coming out in July. The characters in that one pay a couple of visits to a part of town that is decidedly memorable!

Not odd, just an add-on from Queens, which is an add-on from Brooklyn, so it's all part of New York City.            --GK--
