How do I come up with "crazy scenarios?" The same way every writer gets his/her ideas -- from plain old thinking and plotting and planning out our stories. No big mystery; it's just work. I hope this means you enjoy my books!

Hi again yes I do love your books I don't know why I just said "How do you come up with crazy scenerios". I meant to say what inspires your crazy scenerios because in school we are doing Author projects and I was happy to be able to research about you. Thanks for getting back to me. Sometimes a scene like you describe just seems to write itself. For example -- when a group of kids decide to toss their noisemakers into the river because they think they're pleasing their teacher, who hates the noise, it's only logical (and crazy) for the teacher to need rescuing as he wades to keep the noisemakers fom floating. (As in THE UNTEACHABLES.) See how it works? Sometimes the scene you create comes to life and tells you what comes next. I feel very lucky to be the kind of storyteller who thinks that way. It's fun!
