AnsleyHi Mr. Korman!
I\'m a 7th grader, and I\'m a huge fan of your writing! My favorite book of yours is the Unteachables! I loved the characters and the plot was really well thought out. I know the Unteachables was written as a stand-alone book, but I had a idea for a sequel and would love if you would at least read it and/or consider it.
My idea was that Dr. Thaddeus, the superintendent, gets mad that Mr. Kermit made him look bad, so he takes it out on Ms. Emma, firing her because of \"budget cuts\". This happens about two weeks or more after Mr. Kermit comes back, so that its coordinated that it doesn\'t look like it\'s planned. The Unteachables team up and Parker could be dropping off a delivery and finds a printed email saying the only reason he fired her was that he didn\'t like looking bad or something along those lines. I don\'t want to be a dictator to how you write, I would just think that would make sense to expose him. I would love a fight where Mateo has an idea to hack the school livestream and Barnstorm wants to drop copies of the email to everyone from the rafters at an assembly (0r any other school related event, you pick. I just thought that\'s a normal school occurrence.)
The class is split down the middle and this is the part I\'m really excited for you to read. What if we show Elaine\'s perspective where she says how she hates that people freeze up whenever she walks by or drops a pencil near them, or walks by them in the hallway. but she realizes she has to take on that personality and confidence. So she corners them and shows them that they need to compromise to pull this off. And at the best public place ever to announce things for middle school: The Fall ball. They plan to distract Dr. Thaddeus. On the night of the Fall ball, Mateo hacks into the speakers and programs a read aloud of the email. The other teachers listen and they and together and kick Dr. Thaddeus out so he can\'t come back ad they get Ms. Emma reinstated. And we can\'t forget the epilogue! Kiana\'s perspective! This may be too much, but Mateo ends up asking her to dance and she reflects on when she thought the Unteachables were just a dumping ground, and how much she has changed her perspective.
I hope you like my suggestion and enjoyed reading! I hope you have a great rest of your week!
Lots of Love and Thanks,
Ansley. ( I really do love your books and my favorite character, because of his growth and development and personal bias is Aldo. And he really is amazing both in complexity and otherwise.)

Thanks for posting. I'm glad THE UNTEACHABLES made a hit with you. Your idea was a lot of fun, although I doubt it would work with Dr. Thaddeus. I took a lot of liberties with his character, but a Superintendent is quite a lofty post, and I doubt if you could really mess with him too much. (But one face-first into the mud suited me very well, you'll notice!)
Good luck with your own writing. You write very well! You could be The Competition in the future!
Kindest regards, -----Gordon Korman-----
