I am an adult, but I have really found that I enjoy middle grade and YA books more than "adult" fiction. I think there are a few reasons for this:
1. I prefer clean language.
2. I am in my 40s, and perfectly happy as a single adult who's never been on a date. Let's just say that the almost required subplots in adult fiction usually turns me off.
3. I don't need super detailed descriptions. You can describe your main character using 120 words and three pages later, I'm going to have a rather generic picture of this character anyway. Same with trees. Anything other than a pine tree is going to be the generic tree we all draw when we're 5.

All that intro to say I LOVED Restart, even as an adult. It has enough depth that it didn't feel "kid-ish." I kept rooting for Chase. Also, I laughed out loud when Mr. Solway burst into the court room with "Now, hold on just one cotton-pickin' minute!" That was the PERFECT line for him. I could just see him busting in with his walker, probably rolling over a few toes and not caring in the least.

What would you suggest next for an adult?

I'm thinking, perhaps, the "gifted" series. I had a unique perspective when I was in elementary school because I had an IEP for physical reasons, but was also in gifted education. So I got to see the whole spectrum, and I'm pretty sure I'm a better person because of it. I think it probably had an influence on why I love my current job as much as I do as well.

Thanks for posting and for all the nice things you said about RESTART. I appreciate your support for my work.

You're probably right about going on to the "Gifted" books: UNGIFTED, SUPERGIFTED, and HYPERGIFTED. And I might add the MASTERMINDS series. Plus I have a new one coming out in a few days called SLEEPLESS that really is something quite different.

Whatever you choose, hope it's a hit!
