SamHi, I'm 14 and I am writing a book. I don't really know what publishing agencies to use or how to get a lititory agent. Maybe you could tell me what you use or how to publish a book and get an agent to help me.
Thanks, Sam

When I was first writing, I was 12, and chose to send my work with a covering letter to a children's publisher -- in my case it was Scholastic Canada. If they like your work, they will purchase it from you, publish it, and pay you a percentage of the sales. That's how it worked for me. I don't know any agencies besides my own, which is in New York. You might go to your librarian and ask for a book on writers' markets. All publishers and agents are listed there. And I'd also deal with your own family, since you are what I used to be -- too young to sign contracts!
Good luck, Sam! -----Gordon Korman-----
