How long in advance do you know what books you are going to write?

Hi, Sasquatshhh,

When I finish writing one book, I relax for a few days, and then start planning the next one. I know immediately what I plan to write, but I don't start until my story and setting and characters are well planned first. But I always know immediately what book I'm working towards. Except for the books I did for THE 39 CLUES series, all the rest of my work is strictly my own story and design. There is really no "advance time." It starts when it starts. -----Gordon Korman-----
