Hi Gordon, My name is Jessica and I'm a student from PA and I have a question about your book journey. 

Now a few years back probably 3 my school did a author of the year and you where it we zoom called in the theater and you answered some questions but I never knew how to word mine until right now. I have been off and on with writing and I have recently made a sort of trailer in word form about a idea I have and I was wondering if there would be any sort of way I could send it to you and you tell me your thoughts and if it would be a idea that would sell well. I understand if this is not possible but I would love to know thank you and I will keep in touch.

Thanks for posting. I undestand your interest in my "journey," as you call it. However, I have to decline. I get a lot of requests, and haven't the time to fullfil every one of them. So, since it wouldn't be fair to grant one request and turn down another, I've had to make it my policy not to read other people's work.

My advice: write it! What have you got to lose? You should be writing material every day anyway, to sharpen your writing skills. So instead of a diary, or a letter, or whatever, you're working on a story. Write it! And good luck! I hope to be sending you a fan letter one day!

That is thoughtful advice, especially the point about treating the story itself as daily writing practice. Finishing the idea first also gives you something complete to share with other writers or critique groups later.
