    Mr. Korman,

After devouring your early books during my own childhood, I'm now having a blast reading them with my 9-year-old son.

We just finished  Lights, Camera, Disaster! and he and I both noticed that in addition to some plot similarities between Jordie Jones' movie plot and Who is Bugs Potter?, the release party took place at the same Toronto hotel. We were delighted that these stories appear to be in the same Korman Cinematic Universe.

Is there any other crossover between those two series that we should look for in other books?

Thanks for years of entertainment that truly crosses the generations.

Hi, Josh in Virginia & Son,

The "crossover" was probably by accident! It's entirely possible that I only knew one hotel in Toronto at the time -- was it the RoyalYork by any chance? I wrote that book back in the dawn of history -- the 50th anniversary of my very first book, THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL, is almost at hand. Scholastic Canada is turning it into a Graphic Novel to celebrate!

I'm delighted that you're sharing my work with your son! Thanks for letting me know.

                                                       Kindest regards,                                           -----Gordon Korman-----

It was the Royal Empress. A popular spot, I hear, for high school musicians, Hollywood big wigs, and jewel thieves :)

Congrats on the 50th anniversary. It still holds up.

The escape plot for Academy Blues also seemed like a play on Rudy at Camp Algonkian!

Sharing Gordon Korman\'s books across generations is such a wonderful experience. That connection you and your son caught between Lights, Camera, Disaster and Who is Bugs Potter? is a fantastic spot especially the shared Toronto hotel location.

It\'s always rewarding to hunt for those hidden threads with young readers. Hope you two find many more as you keep exploring his catalog.
