[Sutton Lewis]

Dear Mr. Korman,

My name is Sutton Lewis. I'm fourteen, and I'm the author of Legends Unearthed, a middle-grade adventure series. I recently learned that you wrote your first novel at twelve and had it published at fourteen. I thought it was really cool that we got started at almost the same age.

I have dyslexia so reading has always been harder for me than it is for most kids. I started Legends Unearthed to challenge myself to write the kind of book that would actually keep me reading: a fast-paced adventure full of lost treasure, hidden clues, real history, and a lot of humor.

My second book, The Lost Bitcoin, comes out this month, and I'm writing the third now. I started writing to prove I could do it, and now it’s a series people are actually reading!

Knowing you were writing and publishing books at my age is a big part of why I wanted to reach out. If you'd ever be interested in reading The Hunt for Yamashita's Gold, I'd be honored to send you a copy.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Sincerely,
Sutton Lewis

Hi, Sutton!

Congratulations, and welcome to the club! It sounds like you're at the beginning of the same roller coaster ride I've been on for almost 50 years and 108 (so far) titles. I hope you're having as much fun as I've been having.

I don't really have much spare time, but I'd be happy to read your first one. Is it THE HUNT FOR YAMASHITA'S GOLD? I should be able to find it in a bookstore, right? Thanks for the offer. I'll be on the lookout for it.

Again, great news. Enjoy! This profession has meant a lot to me, and  know you'll love it too!

                                                    Kindest regards,                                           -----Gordon Korman-----
