    Mrs. Gibson's 6th Grade Class

    Dear Mr. Korman,

We are reading your book Restart in class, and we have an important question that we are begging you to answer. Why did you choose the color orange for your book cover? We are wondering if you chose the color orange for your book cover since October is National Bullying Prevention Month, and the official color is orange. We can't find this answer anywhere, so we thought to ask you personally since you are the amazing author of this book. We think your book is awesome, and it has made us think about bullying through a different lens. We made the connection of October National Bullying Prevention Month being orange and your book cover being orange. Do tell us! We can't wait to hear from you!

    Sincerely,

Mrs. Gibson's 6th Grade Reading Class

Hi, Mrs. Gibson & Grade 6,

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear that RESTART made a hit with your class. I'm VERY happy to announce that it has been on the New York Times Bestseller List for over FIVE YEARS, and is presently at #1!

Your question: I have ansolutely nothing to do with the cover designs for my books. That's done by the publisher's Art Department. But they're pretty smart at such things at Scholastic, so I'm sure you're right about the choice of orange! Nice catch, 6th grade!

I'm going to make sure my editors know you noticed their orange cover! Thanks again, everybody!

                                              Kindest regards,                                                      -----Gordon Korman-----
