Dear Goran Korman, HI! I am a VERY big fan! I have a few questions for you. 1. In the life of an author, do you write all day, or do you have time for other things? 2. I'm writing my own book, but I can't push myself to work on it more often, any suggestions? Thanks a lot! Me and my friends love all your books, keep up the good work!

    Hi, Charlie,

Thanks for posting. I'll try to deal with all your questions.

I've been writing books since I was 12. When I started, I wrote just when I felt like it. But I gradually learned that writing during "office hours" left me time to be with friends who had different jobs than mine. So I try to put in a normal 40-hour work week.

Can I motivate you to work more on what you're writing? In a word, no. Sorry. That's going to be up to you. But give yourself a break -- maybe your speed isn't the same as mine, and you need more rest time between sessions. It has to be up to you.

Good luck! I owe you a fan letter on your first publication!                           -----Gordon Korman-----

    Hi, Gracelyn,

Hello, fellow author! Thanks for posting.

Your request: Gracelyn, I'm sorry, but I've had to make it my policy not to read other people's work. I get too many requests, and can't possibly deal with all of them and continue with my own work as well. Please understand.

Having said that, I want to congratulate you on your short story, which is what that amount of pages likely is. You obviously have the desire and now you need to hone the skills. Write a lot -- every day! Stories, letters, a diary, anything that will keep you writing. And best of luck to you!

                                                                  Kindest regards,                                 -----Gordon Korman-----
