Hello, Mr. Korman,
My name is Xavier and I\'m 10 years old. I live in Winnipeg, MB.
I love your books and I think you are very inspiering.
I already read Linked, Restart, I want to go home and Game On! and I can\'t wait to read more of your books. I loved them all and I really enjoy the way you give so much detail. I also love the way every chapter is narrarated by a different person.
I like reading and writing and I was wondering if you had some writing advice for me.
Also, will you be coming to Winnipeg in 2022? If not, will you have any virtual presentations soon?
Do you speak french?
Are their any authors that inspire you?
How many books do you think you will you will write by the end of your career?
Thank you,
Xavier

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear that you're such a big fan of my books. I hope you'll want to read your way right through my list of (soon to be) 100 titles!!!
Your questions: The best writing advice I can give you is to write. A diary, a journal, a letter, a memo, a book report -- anything that keeps you writing. It's the best way for someone just starting out to develop a style and a good vocabulary. I don't think Winnipeg is on my itinerary so far. And covid is making it pretty clear that there may not be an itinerary this year! I do virtual presentations, but they have to be arranged through my office: info@gordonkorman.com. Do I speak French? A very VERY small amount. I've lost a lot of my French now that I don't live in Canada. A lot of authors inspire me, notably Kurt Vonnegut and Douglas Adams. And lastly, I have no idea how many books I'll write before I call is a career. A lot, I think, because I'm already at 100!
OK? Thanks again, Xavier. Keep reading! -----Gordon Korman-----

I have recently read the masterminds series after reading ungifted and super gifted. I really enjoy your style of writing and will always come back to your books for a good read. I really liked how different all of the characters were so different from each other especially Malik and Hector. I also really liked how in some of your books you switch the characters pov you follow throughout the different chapters.
I have some questions for you as well, How did you get into writing? Where did you get your inspiration for masterminds? Who is your biggest inspiration?
Thanks, Jax Parish

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear that my books have been making a hit with you. Hint: have to read THE HYPNOTISTS series of 3? The lead character is named Jax!
Your questions: I got into writing in answer to a 7th grade writing assignment when I was 12. The story I wrote ended up being my first book, THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL. That was 44 years ago, and I've been writing ever since. Book #100 is coming up next year! THE FORT. Watch for it. You also ask about "inspiration." It doesn't work quite the way most people think. Most authors don't require it, Jax. We write because we have something we want to say, or a story to tell. That's just about all it takes to start us scribbling!
OK? Thanks again! -----Gordon Korman-----
