JadeHow do you organize your writing? Like, plotting. How do you do it? I am trying to write a book and I am confusing myself with EVERYTHING! So please help me out. Thanks, Mr. Korman!
Be blessed,

I never put down a single word until my story is well-planned first in terms of plot, setting, and characters. It starts with a story in my mind, then where the story takes place, and then the people who will be the ones who carry out the story.
Then I write it down. I mean all of it. My book outline is a short story in itself, and can be as long as 10 or 12 typed pages, double-spaced. It's detailed, almost to the point of being chapter by chapter. I can make changes, add and subtract characters when I start the actual manuscript, but that detailed outline MUST be there before I start to write. If you don't have the plan, you simply can't write anything sensible by making it up as you go along. Planning is everything.
Plan before you write. You can't get lost or confused if you already know where your story is going.
Have fun with it. It's work, but it's also very satisfying to create something new like a novel. -----GK-----
