Hi, Gord! How are you? (EEK!) I wanted to ask you about some things. See, I keep getting burned out, or maybe it is writing block. But I can still write, and I can still write well when I do it again. I'm just not inspired to sometimes! So, do you have any recommendations to do when I feel like this? I want to write a book but I don't really know how to execute and continue wanting to. Do you ever have this problem?

Another thing. Is it a good idea to write multiple books at the same time? I see people purposefully not doing this. Is it because they get distracted, I wonder? I've accidentally done it before and I don't know how it would be, but maybe it would help me to get inspired again. What do you think? Have you ever done this?

My spring break is over, and I didn't forget about you. (Couldn't, since you're my favorite author!) Thanks a lot for having this page, I'm so glad I found it somehow. Thank God for Google. (Is that a saying? I think so. I've heard it before!)

Hi, Jade,

Your problem is that you're probably being too ambitious for someone so young. You have things to say, and you intend to say them all, right NOW!!! Believe it or not, I remember what that feels like. VERY frustrating!

My recommendation is to write only one book at a time. If you get different ideas for different stories, keep a "futures" notebook and write it down as an outline, but always concentrate on the story you're working on. Tell yourself that nothing else matters. You'll address the new idea at some future time -- that's why you're taking notes. But writing a good story involves concentration. You probably just need to get a little bit older in order to control your thoughts more strictly. It's a matter of self-discipline. It comes with age and experience. (I also remember vividly how annoyingly frustrating it is to wait to get older and more disciplined!)

Ooh, thank you! This advice is very helpful. I've been switching from multiple stories at a time to one a lot. I have tons of book ideas and I actually got another idea today! So, thanks for this. I will dedicate myself to this one book I'm writing, or future book, because I am going to publish it or at least finish it before 5 December 2022, which is my birthday, so before I turn 15, and you didn't ask but still, and so this is helpful. I will now dedicate myself to this book and get through all of the chapters. However many that is. So, thanks! Again! Bye!

As I come back to this and think about what advice you've given, I realize that wow, you actually know your stuff. This is just revealing itself (like other advice you've given people) to be very true.
