Thanks for posting. I'm glad to hear that you've been reading and enjoying my books. As you can imagine, THE UNTEACHABLES was fun to write, too!
The purpose of the book was to entertain, which is the purpose behind most of my stuff. I hope, though, that the tribute to teachers like Mr. Kermit came through. Also, the fact that some students can be a little difficult, but everyone has some potential somewhere. That's all there is to it -- I have no secret agenda.
I hope you'll go on to read your way right through my long list. Watch for THE FORT, which is my Book #100, due for release on June 28th. -----Gordon Korman-----

My name is Layla and I am almost 10 years old. The Unteachables is my FAVORITE book EVER. I have read it at least five times. I got it at my school library and then I bought my own copy. I even read it to my mom this summer, and she loved it too.

Well, what a great idea! I agree! THE UNTEACHABLES would make a fantastic movie.
It's just that authors write books, and film companies make movies, so you can understand that it's not up to me. We can just hope that a filmmaker reads the book and agrees with us that it would be a terrific movie. Then they buy the rights from me, have a script written, cast all the actors, and make the movie!
It all sounds very easy, but I'm sure you'll agree that it's a complicated process. But let's keep a good thought, and maybe luck will find us a filmmaker with good taste who will love THE UNTEACHABLES as much as you did!

I can't remember if I described him or not. I envisioned a farm kid, tall, gangly, fair-haired, and probably sticking out at the wrist and ankle, as someone who is growing very fast. Hope that helps. -----Gordon Korman-----

I am currently reading The Unteachables to my 6th grade English Language Arts class, and the LOVE it. They always whine when I come to the end of a chapter and beg me to keep reading. The question they always ask is "From whose point of view is the next chapter told?" I am currently on chapter 23, and the kids want to know when they're going to hear from Elaine and Rahim's point of view. When I told them we don't hear from their perspective, they were so disappointed. Our question for you is "Why did you choose to not share the story from Rahim and Elaine's (ryhme with pain) point of view?"

I'm glad to hear that the class is enjoying THE UNTEACHABLES so much. Your question is one that I've been hearing a lot from 6th graders just like you! While I was writing and giving various viewpoints, I never realized that I was leaving out only two people. I don't mind omitting Elaine so much, because she was the strong silent type. But poor Rahim really deserved a shot, I agree. Sorry about that. My bad. If I ever get a chance for a rewrite for an updated release, I promise Elaine and Rahim will have their say, OK?

We just finished reading "The Unteachables" for our all school read at Seneca Intermediate School. My 4th grade students were wanting to know if you have ever thought about writing an "Unteachables Volume Two"? By the way my class along with the entire school loved "The Unteachables".

The Positive Action Group just did our first big event!!! We went to a school and gave out free books and it went so awesomely. We have a website now!!

It's really simple cuz it was an afterthought but thank u so much for letting us be the PAGGERS. We've even started to build a base for our community--8 people responded from yesterday to be in the newsletter! So we can do events even in the summer and stuff!
