    Hello,

I have been reading the MASTERMINDS series for a few days now. I am now in the second book and have came across a few words that I think is a mistype or error in the book. I have came across errors before in previous books by other authors and never thought about saying anything. I guess since I have enjoyed this series since the day I got the books that I feel like you might need to know about what I found. I’m not saying I am right, I know I  could be wrong but I just wanted to bring it up to you and get your thoughts.  Chapter 8  PG. 100  Middle paragraph   “ I can’t helping thinking how much thinner it would be if the published it for Serenity, where there’s only one channel.”

Please don’t think I’m criticizing your book or how you write. I have read a lot of your books and will continue to do so.

    Hi, Nick,

    Thanks for posting.

If you come upon errors, wrong words, typos, etc., you should do what you just did -- tell the author. I'll report it to the publisher and they'll correct it for any reprint run. But don't blame the poor author, who just writes the book and has nothing to do with typesetting, printing, or even proofreading! We're innocent!

And thanks for the shout-out. Much appreciated.                        -----Gordon Korman-----

    Hello Mr. Korman!

I am an elementary school librarian assistant and have been reading through the 2022-2023 Mark Twain Award Nominees. I have recently finished War Stories and found it to be a great historical fiction book. My Dad, who never talked about training for WW II when us kids were at home, would've loved this book. He never counted himself as being in the war as it ended the day he was deployed.

On to the subject at hand. I believe there are one or two errors in this book and I want to make you aware so that when it goes for a second run  : )  these can be amended.

Pg. 206, second to last paragraph, "All to get revenge on a ninety-three-year-old-man," Jacob concluded resentfully." Yet it is Trevor who is talking to Juliette and Jacob isn't even there when the conversation takes place.

I'm not sure about this one on pg. 363 (last line) to top of pg. 364, "He started down the hill, picking his way carefully, working hard to make plenty of noise." This takes place when Jacob is trying to get back to his encampment after being with the Resistance. It seems to me this should say 'working hard not to make plenty of noise' but, of course you would know better than anyone.

My school has quite a lot of your books I am glad to say, but sad to say I've only read one other of your books. I read Restart, and yes, because if was a 2019-20 Mark Twain Nominee! As anyone who loves reading/books my list is long yet I only seem to read a few others besides the nominee books.

Take care Mr. Gordon - keep on writing and I'll keep on reading!

    Sincerely,

    Suzanne

Thanks so much, Suzanne! Of course you're right about P. 206, and I'll tell them right away. Everyone missed that one!

As for P 363, it's 163! (See how easy it is to get all messed up?) That one is correct. He's making enough noise so that they'll hear him coming, assume he's one of them, and not shoot at him. He wants to be heard in this case.

Thanks again. Appreciate it.                                                                        -----Gordon Korman-----
