BradHey Gordon,
I had a couple questions about the swindle series.
1. What race is Melissa? I'm asking this because the book described her as having "stringy" hair, and I'm not exactly sure what "stringy" hair would look like.
2. How did you think of Swindle? It's a super intriguing storyline, and I'd like to know where that stemmed from.
You really inspire me because I read/heard somewhere that you published your first book, This Can't Be Happening at McDonald Hall, when you were 14. I'm 14 and am very interested in writing books, and you are the first person I've heard of that has published a book so young.

Glad you enjoyed the SWINDLE books. I'll try to answer your questions.
1. Melissa has a Greek name (Dukakis) so I guess she's Mediterranean.
2. I got the idea for SWINDLE from the same place I get all my ideas -- from a lot of planning and thinking. I made it up. The main idea was the concept of a team where everyone has a specific talent to pull off some scheme or other.
My first book was called THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING AT MACDONALD HALL. I wrote it for a 7th grade English assignment. It was published when I was 14, but I wrote it at 12.
