MKDear Mr. Korman,
I really like the Swindle series and Restart! I also read The Unteachables, and more. Please write another book! I really enjoy all your writing. You're such a good author!
I like coming up with long, interesting books on my head, but when I try to write them down, I either forget them or mess up and stop writing. Do you ever use voice recognition software or recordings to get your books written?
Also, I noticed something in Restart. Three of the characters, Aaron, Bear, and Chase, have the first initials, A, B, and C. This groups them in my mind, though their social group is broken up by the end. Did you refer to them as A, B, and C in your first draft, and then put in names? Or did you always know what you wanted their full names to be?
Thanks!

Thanks for posting and for wanting more of my books. I just published THE FORT, which happened to be Book #100, so I don't think you're going to be running out of reading material any time soon! But thank you for thinking that way!
Your questions: The books in your head have to become fairly elaborate plans before you start the actual writing, and you'll avoid the kind of breakdown you describe. Truthfully, I don't really know what voice recognition software would add to my writing process. I really have no problem staying focused. And I never realized until your letter that RESTART has Aaron, Bear, and Chase, as A, B, and C. That was strictly by accident. They were always Aaron, Bear, and Chase, even before the planning stages ended and the the actual writing commenced.
OK? Thanks again for your interest in me and my work. I hope you'll continue to be a fan. -----Gordon Korman-----
