Dear Gordan Korman,

My name is Makenna Thorne and I am a 6th grader at Wood Creek Junior High. I am writing to you today to tell you how much I love your book, The Unteachables.

The Unteachables is such a good book for so many reasons. 1) It teaches many lessons. Such as don’t give up on anyone/thing, don’t judge a book by its cover, etc. 2) It was never boring. I was even sad to finish it! 3) I think the characters are very relatable. I could connect to some of the Unteachables as a middle schooler myself.

But I think The Unteachables needs a prequel. We are left with so many things to wonder after finishing the book. I think it would be great to hear more about the cheating scandal, so maybe you write something that goes into detail about 1992 and Jake as a kid. Maybe you could even tell about Mr. Kermit and Fiona’s relationship, and hw they broke up. Hearing about a young Kachary would be so cool! You could name it “The Scandal” or something like that. I think all your fans might love the idea as much as I would.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter. I hope you put my ideas into consideration and maybe even turn them into a great book!

Thanks for posting and for your intriguing idea! Right now I have no plans to go ahead with either a prequel or a sequel, but I would never say never!

I've got 100 books out there, so I hope you plan to read on. The latest is THE FORT, which is #100 on my long list. Coming in January is THE SUPERTEACHER PROJECT.
