Marybeth KozikowskiDear Mr. Korman:
Have you ever heard of teachers being encouraged to read any of your books? If not, what would you think about such an idea?
I've read and enjoyed several of your books and am currently halfway through The Superteacher Project...and it occurred to me that your books show the positive - or negative- impact a teacher can have on their students' lives. Kids know which teachers like them, which ones talk to them with intelligence and respect- and which ones don't. A caring teacher can literally turn a student's life around. Your books remind teachers of that power. Do you think this is an assignment or message teachers would welcome?
Thank your for your insight,
Marybeth

I love this idea! I do know that several of my books are part of the curriculum in university Education and Library Science programs, although I don't have a lot of details.
Since I've written about so many schools, I've had a chance to create some memorable educator characters - from Mr. Sturgeon way back in the Macdonald Hall/Bruno and Boots novels to Mr. Kermit of THE UNTEACHABLES, and, most recently, Mr. Aidact in THE SUPERTEACHER PROJECT. I'm flattered that you feel these characters show the impact teachers have on their students' lives. Yes, yes, yes, by all means, I would encourage teachers to read these books - both new educators and experienced ones who might be struggling for revival and motivation.
Thanks so much for your message. It made my day!
