JadeDear Gord,
I was just thinking about my writing. How I'm gonna be a famous author one day. And then I thought and thought and thought back to when I first learned about you. First of all, your writing is spectacular. But mainly, it's that you got published at either 13/14, but you wrote a book at 12. A good book. A fun book. A lot of times I feel like I can't write or I shouldn't write because "it's bad, you're just a kid". but then I would have your website open always while writing, just as a reminder that you were a kid and that you did it too. So by the way, whenever my gazillions of books get published, just know you were and are a key factor in how I realize yes, I could do it too. You're an inspiration. And this isn't even why you're my favorite author. You write awesomely. Your first person stories (or all your stories, I suppose) feel like I'm listening to an intricately woven tale by one of my best friends. your stories are always so nice. Your characters are (mostly) really kind and when they develop they do get that way. So many of them are different in their unique ways, and I love them for that. You're a great author for that. Your writing is magnifique!
Be blessed,
Jade

You are amazing and your writing is incredible. I am in seventh grade and I have read a lot of your books and have read restart at least I have read restart at least a thousand times. Your books are always so good and help me see the world through more perspectives than just my own. I am in Ms. Coursolle’s homeroom at Fowler middle school. I just want you to know that your writing has inspired me so much and I could never thank you enough. I think I might want to be an author like you. How did you find what genres you wanted to write and how to write characters as fun to read about as yours?
From your biggest fan, Bryson Herman

Thanks for posting and for all the terrific things you said about me and my books! I've got a very long list -- the count is up to 101 titles with the publication of my newest, THE SUPERTEACHER PROJECT -- so I hope you'll plan to read on.
Your question: I didn't really plan what genre I was going to write. I was 12 when I wrote the first one. I just started writing, and it turned out to be Middle Grade. I've been at it for many years, and I've written some Y/A novels too, but Middle Grade comedy/adventure is my favorite.
Thanks again, Bryson. -----Gordon Korman-----
