Hey, 

I am an 8th-grade student that struggles with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and ADHD. diagnosed in the 3rd grade, I hated reading. I mean HATED it. I thought it was just something I wouldn't be able to do like other people. So I didn't. I dreaded reading class because I didn't want the teacher to call on me to read. Fast forward to fifth grade, my teacher told the class to read when we finished our work. I was stuck I didn't have any books. She told me to get one from the back of the class. I picked a yellow book with a yellow school bus on it. I bet you can guess what I started reading. I fell in love. That was my favorite book my teacher let me borrow it. I finished the book and read it three more times. I have an online reading app on my computer and I was scrolling through some books I saw an orange book with glasses that caught my eye. I started reading it and I fell in love again. Reading it multiple times. Then when I finished it the third time I saw who the author was. I saw your name and was shocked because I remember loving Schooled. I started reading all of your books. I shared your stuff with my brother and talked about it with my family. your books were perfect for me entertaining and not too challenging to read but still challenging enough that I grew in my reading skills. I love reading now. I have outgrown most of your books but still, go back to them sometimes. I love that you have so many different types of stories and people. If you ever want to write a book about ADHD just email me. Thank you so much for helping me be able to read.

Hi, Sydney,

Thanks so much for posting! It gives me a great feeling to hear that my work had a lot to do with you overcoming a serious and persistent disability.

As for writing about ADHD, I hope you'll get a copy of my 100th book, THE FORT, and tell me what you think about the character named Mitchell. I think he might appeal to you on some long-forgotten level.

And my most heartfelt congratulations on your victory over one of the tough ones!

also, would u consider putting some more books on learning ally it's my favorite audiobook app because it highlights the words as it reads them. It really helps with focus and stuff like that. Thanks

If you have ADHD, check out "The Twinkie Squad". Its a great GK classic that tackles "feeling different."
