    Congrats! I didn't realize it was already time for a new book! I haven't been on the website in a while. I get on today and I see stuff about a knew book. I thought you had just came out with the Fort like 2 days ago. I then realized it has almost been 7 month! Man, time really does fly by.

    Great question, Jade. I have always pronounced it jar-DEEN, with a hard "J" sound and emphasis on the second syllable.


    My friends on "Zucchini Warriors: A Gordon Korman Podcast" use a soft "J" and either initial emphasis or equal emphasis to make the name sound like ZHAR-deen or ZHAR-DEEN. They are from Canada where French-derived names are more common and (I suspect) typically less anglicized. 


    Of course, we both know one person who could clear up what pronunciation HE had in mind while writing A SEMESTER IN THE LIFE OF A GARBAGE BAG.

    Gord, you should know that I have a big problem with buying books and never finishing them. That's what happened with THE SUPERTEACHER PROJECT. I read the first fifty pages (they were awesome) and figured I'd read the rest later. That was in January. Now, it is later. I just finished it, and no regrets. I really really enjoyed it! Gord, you write middle schoolers really well. It's like you latched onto the essence of middle-grader-ness when you were twelve years old and never let go. Something I'd like to mention: I like how Rosalie thinks Nathan is just as bold as Oliver but he's really not. I like how Steinke was incorporated. I don't know what he actually contributed to the end plot (I think it was him who mentioned Darryl?) but I laughed so hard when I first saw "Steinke Newhouse". You have no idea. THE SUPERTEACHER PROJECT was long. Longer than MIXED UP, but I think it was as long as MASTERMINDS: CRIMINAL DESTINY. One of them, at least. Anyway, I'm on a roll this week! I read MIXED UP yesterday, THE SUPERTEACHER PROJECT today--what's next? I own a lot of your books (if roughly 1/3rd is a lot) so which one should I read tomorrow? I mainly have your old ones. The books I'm eyeing are This Can't Be Happening at Macdonald Hall and No Coins, Please. Maybe even DON'T CARE HIGH. Dunno. I'd read A Semester in the Life of a Garbage Bag if I had it.
