Hello,

Just wanted to say that I really love your books even though I’m probably older than your intended audience (I’m 17, got into your books around 6th grade and continues to enjoy them). My favorite book is Restart and I’m probably one of the very few fans who doesn’t want a sequel or movie because I’m so obsessed with this book that I have too many headcanons/fanfiction ideas and a sequel/movie would make them go against canon. I’m the kind of fan that wants their ideas to somehow fit within the story without an alternative universe even though it doesn’t matter. Sorry if this is kind of weird, I just wanted to say I really love your writing and will continue to support you in the future regardless if you plan on writing a sequel to anything. Sorry for any mistakes in my writing, English is not my first language.

Thanks for posting and for your kind words about RESTART. Although I would never say never, right now I'm not planning a sequel. I think the story resolves itself well in one unit.

Yes, you're older than my middle grade readers, but I have parents and even grandparents still following my books. Believe me, everybody's welcome! I'm very pleased that some of my stuff appeals to an older audience as well.

Hello Gordan my name is Skye and I am 11 years old. In our book club we read your book and I really liked it because of how each chapter was from a different perspective and each character told the story so differently. One of the activities after we read the book was to write a letter to you. I wanted to know if Mr. Solway was a real person and if he really got the medal I doubt it but you never know. Also is Hiwassee middle school a real place.

Thanks for posting. I'm pleased to hear that RESTART made a hit with you. Right now I'm not planning a sequel. But if you'll go to MORE RESOURCES on this website and click on "short fiction," you'll find a story called SECRETS OF SPLAT NIGHT. It's an extra RESTART chapter that you might enjoy.

As for movies, there have been several -- 3 of the Macdonald Hall Bruno & Boots books, one of SWINDLE, and a series on Disney called THE JERSEY that aired several years ago. Of course, I don't make movies -- that's a job for film companies.

I have reread it countless times (my copy is so well worn it looks like it has been in a storm) and love it. I read the short fiction you wrote about it and even though I love it I still need more. You should consider writing a sequel to it or maybe televising a series or movie. If you wrote a sequel I would buy a copy and if it was on TV I would watch it. Sorry If this is too long but I wanted to make a suggestion.

Also, I noticed the Names TIna(Chase's mom and Donovan's niece in Ungifted) And Garfinke(judge in Restart and Chloe´s surname in Ungifted) for characters who appeared in another book(Ungifted). Is that on purpose and if so why?

(P.S English Is my second language sorry)

You ask if there will be a sequel. I wouldn't rule it out, but so far I have many other commitments, and I have no plan to write one. Would you accept what I call "a definite maybe?" As for TV and movies, that's the job of film compnies who buy the rights to written works. Someone else would be doing that. In fact, there is a film company in Canada that has optioned the rights to RESTART. So you just might be seeing a movie or TV movie one of these days.

As for the use of repeated names, there is no reason for more than one Tina or Garfinkle. The only excuse I can come up with is that I've written, so far, 101 books, and I forget from time to time what names I'm using.
