Dear Gordon

I loved Restart so much that my friends and I wanted to make it into a little home video style show. I was hoping to post it on youtube, but I am not sure if I can due to copyright issues. I don't know if I would be able to make the show even if I credited your work. (By the way I just finished Unteachables, loved it) I'm aspiring to become a lawyer someday so Copyright is something i'm familiar with but I don't know all the laws of copyright. Hi, Vincent. Thanks for your post. I'm thrilled that RESTART inspired you to want to make a home video show.

Since you're interested in the law and copyrights, I kicked your inquiry over to the professionals. They told me that it's fine for you to go ahead and make your home movie but I can't authorize you to post it to YouTube or anywhere for public viewing. That's because the film rights to RESTART are currently with a production company, so I can't grant you rights that I've already sold to somebody else. Does that make sense?

I appreciate your interest in me and my books. I'm glad RESTART and THE UNTEACHABLES were such hits with you!
